Sisterhood News

The Sisterhood had its November meeting on Thursday, the 7th of the month. Yvonne Tibai, a previous member (and Education Director) of CSH, presented the art of Jewish American women, some of whom are/were Houstonian.

The art works encompassed painting, collages, sculptures, stained glass and photography, using variety of materials including ceramics, glass, metal, wood and more. Some of the artists who were Holocaust survivors documented in art what they could not say in wards.

Owing to the stormy weather just before the meeting, only 10 members (+ Yvonne and Ron Zaguli in computer help capacity) attended the meeting. But not to worry – we think that we convinced Yvonne to repeat her presentation at the Women’s League Spring Conference in Clear Lake which will take place in April (18th-21st) 2020. Don’t miss it, it’s a fantastic presentation!

And looking forward:

The Sisterhood, together with the Religious school, will sponsor the Family Potluck and Hanukkiah lighting prior to the service on Friday, December 27.

Speaking of Hanukkah – the gift shop is open every Sunday during Sunday school, with wide selection of Hanukkah gadgets and whimsical accessories. Come and check it out!

Heads up: CSH Purim celebration will take place very early this year (end of February). Watch out for your Purim Bags order form in the mail early next month.
